MISS WEST AFRICA UK 2011! ASTRIDE COSTA!
20 year old Astride Costa Rezende was born in Portugal with both parents from Guinea-Bissau. For the past 16 years she has lived and grown up in the east end of London and is very fond of her community and the events and projects she has engaged in within the area. She is now currently undertaking a textiles Design course for fashion at University. She has always had an enormous interest in fashion, recently starting her own designs. She aims to own her own boutique in central London by the age of 30.
Astride Costa is a child of two popular Guinea Bissau singers, making her a natural born singer. She was involved with her college choir and won a prize for singing at London's excel. She has also got certificates for singing and now wish to go further to establish herself with her voice. Besides her many talents, she has also picked up various modeling related activities, where her images have gone as far as the final of "Black Hair Awards 2010". She also styles for various fashion shows.
She now wishes to work along side the community to raise awareness of west africa along with her chosen charity of down syndrome that she has always had a soft spot for as many of her family and friends have been affected in this area. she vows to organize fundraiser and use her talents of singing and fashion to reach her goal for the charity and build a future for herself in the process.
