Sometimes boyfriends and girlfriends get into arguments. When things escalate, violence can occur.

To the sporah show, I remember very well seen my mom beaten!
My mum met my step-dad when I was five. After he came into our lives, things changed. At times he could be ok, take us out as a family and stuff, but at other times he'd get into these nasty moods.

When he was in a mood and going at mum, I used to get between them, even though they both would yell at me to go to my room. Sometimes I got hit by him if I got in the way, but I hated to see mum get hurt.

One night I got home late and my little step-brother was crying, and my step-dad was screaming at my mum, she had a cut on her arm. He was really aggro and I saw him throw an ash-tray at her head. Mum said for me to take my brother and go next door, she looked so scared. The neighbours let us in and told me to call the police. I rang them and told them what was happening.

I believe that every man, woman and child deserves peace, safety and respect.
I have been a victim of domestic abuse and I am committed to helping others stand up for themselves and others who need a voice/advocate! I want women to know that they are not alone and there are people that care. I want them to know that they should never give up.
    Good Show.

    Hi Sporah,
I'm a 24 year old female. I have been in a relationship with my fiance for about 3 years now. A little over a year ago, shortly after we got engaged (dated for a year first - but we were old friends from high school), my fiance and I got into an argument (I can hardly remember what it was about now, it was nothing big). Anyways, the argument got out of control and I ended up telling him I wanted to break up (this was an overreaction on my part, I wasn't serious, just mad). When I told him that I wanted to call things off, he freaked out, started crying etc., and then said "if I can't have you, I'll kill you and then myself". Then he grabbed me by the neck and choke slammed me into my closet door (by the way, the next day, I ended up having to pry my closet door open with a crowbar, that's how hard it was) he let go and I fell to the floor trying to breathe (I only have one lung from a prior surgery.
    STAND UP LADIES!
