LACE WIGS - AN ALTERNATIVE LOOK FOR WOMEN!

HOW TO APPLY A LACE WIG?

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LACE FRONT AND FULL LACE WIGS?
A lace front wig does not have lace around the back, and therefore can't be worn in a high ponytail with the back showing. While the full lace wig is lace all around, and can be worn up in a high ponytail. Both wigs can be parted anywhere, anyhow, and both offer a natural look.

HOW TO APPLY A LACE WIG?
Lace wigs are probably the best choice to show a natural appearance without damaging our own hair. Applying wig well plays more important. Generally there are two main procedures: preparing the lace wig & applying the lace wig.

PREPARE THE LACE WIG!
Step 1 Cut the excessive lace off the wig leaving about 1/4 inch of lace around the hairline. Take your time and do this very carefully so as not to remove too much or too little lace.
Step 2 Turn the wig inside out and spray the inside of the cap with a knot sealer such as Seal the Knots then blow-dry the lace wig to seal the knots. Repeat this process 3 times. This will extend the life of your wig.
Step 3 Pre-fit the wig on your head to determine where it will lay on your head.
Step 4 Braid the hair on the head in cornrolls to have the hair lie flat on the head.
Step 5 Trim the hairline around the head to remove hairline hair. This should be done with a clipper or razor so that the wig is applied to a smooth hairless surface.
Step 6 Apply alcohol around the hairline to remove any natural oils from your skin.

APPLY THE LACE WIG!
Step 1 Apply adhesives around the front of the hairline using the adhesive applicator. Using the adhesive application brush, smooth out hair around the front of the hairline. Allow this adhesive to dry for 7 to 10 minutes before proceeding. Depending upon the glue you may want to apply the wig on 1/4 of your head at a time.
Step 2 When the glue for the first section is dry, apply the wig to that area starting at the center of the forehead and then working to the right and the left. Stick the wig to the glue 1 inch at a time.
Step 3 As you place the edge of the wig in the glue, rub your finger in a circular motion to make the wig stick and to give the appearance of baby hair coming from the scalp, which will make the wig look more natural.
Step 4 Proceed to the sides of the head and back hairlines in the same manner, after the front of the wig is applied. Repeat Steps 1-3 until the entire head is completed.
Step 5 Trim and style the wig as needed. Treat your wig as you would your own hair, covering it at night before you go to bed and following manufacturing instructions for care.

Hey Sporah, I am looking into buying a lace wig, simply because I'm fed up with the traditional weaves/hair extensions. I'm looking for something that looks relatively real, as my own hair is hard to maintain.

I have seen some full lace ones I like but don't really understand how lace wigs work!
Question do they damage your hair? I understand that you have to glue the wig on but doesn't that damage the hair shaft?

Does lace wigs only come in Remy hair? and do you have to go to the salon every time to apply the wig each time you wear it?

How is the lace hidden from being visible at the front of your hair/head?

If you know any tips or pointers please let me know!

I am of black origin so websites that specialize in black hair products would be very useful.

O and what do you think of Motown Tress Lace wigs? are they human hair? as that's what I'm looking for.

    here is the answer ladies,
Just like natural curly hair, curly and wavy lace wigs require tender love and care. Caring for a curly or wavy lace wig can be a daunting task for some, so please read these notes carefully. If you do not care for your unit properly, it will not look good and you may cause irreversible damage to it! We cannot be held repsonsible for any damage that you cause to your unit as a result of improper care.

ONLY wash your wig on a styrofoam wig head, preferably using a mild shampoo such as BLW Smoother Shampoo, or Silicon Mix shampoo.

NEVER, EVER comb or brush curly lace wigs!

    Tips:
We recommend washing your unit once every two weeks to avoid excess wear on lace and hair. You can use a dry shampoo in between washings to remove excess product build up.

    Only use silicone-based shampoos
Avoid products with alcohol, which tends to dry the hair

  22. Most human hair weaves come from parts of Asia and India. This is because Indian hair is easily blended with hair of women in other countries.
