Sporah One On One Interview With The Ghetto President Bobi Wine
Once upon a time, the lavish, successful artiste Bobi Wine was just another boy in Kamwokya slum. Bobi Wine, real name Robert Kyagulanyi, then used to sell water and make bricks to top up his school fees.
With such a humble background, Bobi Wine resolved to fight injustice and poverty.

NOW, Bobi Wine is one of the richest celebrities in Uganda, he owns a 4 billion mansion in Kasangati, one love beach and many businesses around Kampala. He also posses a range of world class cars.

He says" I was supposed to be a lawyer because I wanted to fight for rights of the poor. When I realised that there is more hypocrisy in the law than democracy, I then chose to become the people's mouthpiece through music".
He says" I was supposed to be a lawyer because I wanted to fight for rights of the poor. When I realised that there is more hypocrisy in the law than democracy, I then chose to become the people's mouthpiece through music".
Bobi Wine for a while has been surrounded with controversy, so my question was, How comes that your music is always surrounded with controversy?
Controversy is a character of good things; everything I do is received with both negative and positive perception.
East Africa Musicians are beefing and fighting every day, Some of them are involved in endless wars, WHY???
Sporah, I always want the best for others, "I was a bad boy in school, but I was never undisciplined. I would never let anybody step on my toes be it a student or teacher", says Bobi Wine, a Makerere graduate of Music, Dance and Drama.
We Talked About His Reality Tv Show Called "Omubanda Wa'Kabaka
Omubanda Wa'Kabaka a reality show featuring Bobi Wine and family is one of the most popular shows airing on Bukedde TV channel 148 for those on DSTV. The show which started airing weeks after Zari's 'The Boss Lady' show show-cases Bobi Wine and how he goes about his chores at his Magere mansion.
Interestingly, Zari's show airs on UBC at 8:30pm on Wednesday and on the same day an hour later, Omubanda Wa Kabaka airs Bukedde TV clearly giving you an insight in these local celebs lives.
Barbie features prominently on the Omubanda Wa Kabaka unlike The Boss Lady that seems to be preoccupied by Zari her kids and a little bit of her hubby Ivan Ssemwanga. Daniella who happens to be a close buddy to Barbie(Bobi's wife) is contemplating on coming up with a similar show featuring the Valu Valu star. Watch this space!
The singer is also a businessman and farmer, who loves animals and owns horses, rabbits, guinea fowls and dogs, among others. So, why does he perpetuate the 'bad man image'?
In addition to his charity, Bobi Wine has also donated a 15-decimal plot of land to Busabala Police to build a station near his One Love beach.
Bobi Wine's Boat.
Bobi Wine's boat with 2 bedroom cabins, sun-bath area, toilet with a pilot console among others.
Bobi's Wife Barbie on the boat.
Bobi Wine’s wife Barbie is on Cloud 9, a mini yacht. We’re told that the ghetto First Lady is enjoying the best of her time, after the ghetto president added the yacht which cost a whopping Shs300m to their prized bunch of toys, which includes a fleet of plush cars.
Mr and Mrs.
Bobi Wine bought off a piece of land at an Island and a new Jeep which he gave as a thanksgiving of sorts to Barbie Itungo Kyagulanyi (his wife) for having helped him buy a yacht.
When you look at yourself in the mirror in the morning, Do you say to yourself like, I'm rich! I'm richer than....
Oh No..! N. E.VE. R.
From way back, I performed at school and on shows. I never realized that I was earning from it. I just had passion for what I did.
Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk to us.
